$100.00 door prize for a lucky cruiser.This years 50's Revisited Car Show and Cruise Night will be held on July 5th, 2008. This marks the 25th year of this wonderful event. During all of those 25 years, 100% of the proceeds have gone directly to the Walton Booster Club. This is a youth sports program available to all kids here in our fine town of Walton, NY. We are very proud that this Car Show and Cruise night has raised over $100,000 for the Walton Booster Club.
There has been some changes to this years event. We have decided to make this a one day, all day, fun for all, 4th of July extravaganza. It had always been a two day event with Cruise night on Saturday and Car Show on Sunday. Due to much higher gas prices and other economic crunches we felt it best to limit the travel for both spectators and participants. We strongly feel we can put on a better show and cruise-in by holding everything on Saturday.
We will start off by holding the Car Show on Saturday July 5th from 9am to 2:30pm. Awards will be handed out from 2:00pm to 2:30pm. Moving right into our famous and fun Cruise night. Crusie night will run from 2:30pm to 10:00pm. There is expected to be from 150 to 400 cars and thousands of spectators. Even if you don't want to show your car but want to come early to make a day of it, we have a place on the grounds next to the show field for you to come park your car. One entrance fee gets you in for both the show and cruise-in. Line up for our cruise of Main St. will be at 6:00pm and will last about one hour. If you are a guy or gal that has a car and enjoys driving, cruising, and or showing your car, or if your a guy or gal or kid that enjoys looking at old and modern cars, trucks, and motorcyles this is an event you don't want to miss.
This year we will have many more activities on the grounds. We will have a car balancing teeter-totter. There will be tricycle drag races for adults and older kids. Five star entertainment will be bringing numerous inflatable ride for all ages, featuring a mechanical bull, mechanical surfboard, velcro wall and many more. Ride all day for one great low price. There will be food vendors, parts vendors, and a flea market area. Also 50/50 drawings and cash awards, as well as $150.00 and a 3ft trophy for the best of the best cruiser during the cruise-in.
Two live bands will be performing this year. First will be Coyote Junction from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Back again this year, The Poni-Tails. Yes, this is the modern version of the original 50's and 60's doo-wop band, The Poni-Tails. They played for us last year and brought the house down and if you haven't seen them, you should make plans to attend. They will play from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. To cap off the evening we will have our spectacular fireworks display celebrating the 4th of July Holiday.
Here is the best part of the day, the price. Spectators only pay $2.00 per person and kids under 10 years old are free for the whole day. Car Show and Cruise night participants only pay $5.00 per car. That's right, ALL DAY FUN FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN, WITH HUNDREDS OF CARS, TRUCKS, AND MOTORCYCLES. TWO LIVE BANDS WITH SIX HOURS OF MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT, MIDWAY RIDES, FIREWORKS, AND MUCH MORE FOR ONLY $2.00 PER PERSON. You won't find this much entertainment anywhere for $2.00 and it's all for charity.
